GENERAL PROPERTIES & INTENDED USES

1. Considerations Before Use

Environmental Conditions

Apply only at temperatures above 10°C (42°F) and when relative humidity is below 85%.

Spread Rate / Coverage

Coverage is approximately 500-660 ft² (12.2-16.1 m²/L) per 7.57L. (2.0 gallons) For improved results, apply two full coats for maximum hide and durability, especially on new surfaces.

Thinning

Not typically recommended.

Dry Times

Dries to the touch in 30 minutes; recoat in 4 hours. Cooler temperatures, high humidity, or thick applications will extend drying time.

2. Surface Preparation

Clean & Prepare:

Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of mildew, loose or scaling paint, and other contaminants. Sand glossy surfaces with 180-220 grit sandpaper eliminating gloss and sheen. Fill cracks, holes, and voids with a suitable filler and spot prime repaired areas to prevent flashing. Caulk as necessary. For substrates prone to stain bleed, apply a stain-blocking primer. Unpainted wood and metal should be primed with the appropriate primer.

Repair:

Scrape, or brush to remove scaling paint and loose material. Repair cracks, holes, voids and other irregularities using an appropriate filler. Spot prime with this product to avoid ‘flashing’. Caulk as needed.

Prime:

Paint and Primer in one. For improved performance a primer will improve adhesion, coverage, and increases the durability. Contact Rodda Paint for best recommendations.

3. Container Opening Instructions

Procedure – 4-Tab EZ Tear Skirt Covers
*NOTE* The EZ-style covers are designed to be removed by hand. Using mechanical methods can damage the cover.

BREAK TEAR TAB

PULL TO REMOVE TEAR STRIP

LIFT COVER TABS OUT AND UPWARD TO DISENGAGE FROM PAIL

Step By Step:

• Locate the tear-tab or ring-pull feature on the tear-away strip.

• Pry outward with your index finger to break the thin tether at the end of the tear-away strip.

• For ring-pull lids: Insert a finger (preferably an index finger) into the ring feature at the end of the tear-away strip. Pulling at a 90-degree plane to the pail, pull the strip away from the cover. Continue pulling the strip until it has completely separated from the cover. Discard the strip in an appropriate receptacle.

• For tear-tab lids: Grasp the tab at the end of the tear-away strip between thumb and forefinger. Pulling at a 90-degree plane to the pail, pull the strip away from the cover. Continue pulling the strip until it has completely separated from the cover. Discard the strip in an appropriate receptacle.

• Using your hands or an appropriate cover removal tool, lift each of the four (4) exposed cover segments around the cover outward & upward to disengage the cover from the pail.

• *NOTE* Aggressive removal techniques can create plastic hairs and shavings that can contaminate the packaged product.

4. Application Instructions

Tools & Techniques

Can be applied by brush, roller or spray. Apply generously covering no more than 100 ft2 (8 m2) per litre. Best results are achieved when using premium quality lint free rollers or synthetic bristle brushes. Always apply coating at the recommended spread rate.

Stir

Stir thoroughly before and during use to a uniform consistency. For multiple containers, mix paint together for colour consistency.

Apply by Brush

Use a nylon/synthetic brush, roller, pad or sprayer. Back roll with spray application. Use appropriate applicator for the specific job.

Applying by Roller

Use a quality 10mm nap roller cover and apply paint in a random W shaped pattern across wall surface to eliminate roller lap marks. Lightly roll over any lap marks.

5. Cleanup

Clean tools and equipment with warm, soapy water. Contact your local municipality for disposal instructions.

Do not take internally.
Close container after each use. Keep from freezing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR CASCADIA WALL PAINT

While Rodda Cascadia offers exceptional hide and one-coat coverage, applying two coats ensures a more uniform finish and enhanced durability.

A primer is recommended for new drywall, drastic colour changes, or surfaces with stains and repairs. Cascadia is self-priming on previously painted surfaces.

The Rodda Cascadia® product combines paint and primer in one for most surfaces, allowing for enhanced adhesion and coverage.

However, some surfaces may still require a primer coat for optimal results. Heavily stained areas, high-contrast colours, or bare substrates, additional primer or multiple coats may be required. Always refer to the Technical Data Sheet (TDS) for guidance on when a primer is recommended for specific applications.

Cascadia will dry to the touch in 30 minutes and can be recoated after 4 hours.

A 2-gallon container covers approximately 500 – 660 ft2 (12.2 – 16.1 m2 /L) per 7.57L (2.0 gallon) when applied at the recommended thickness. Additional coats may be required for drastic colour changes, textured or repaired surfaces.

Yes, use a soft sponge or cloth with mild soap for cleaning. Avoid heavy scrubbing, as it may damage the finish.

Yes, but using a primer will reduce the number of coats needed for better coverage and a more even finish.

  • Clean the walls with mild soap and water.
  • Patch holes and cracks with spackle.
  • Sand rough areas and remove dust.
  • Spot prime all repaired areas.
While Rodda Cascadia is durable and washable, K&B (Kitchen & Bath) paints are specifically designed for higher humidity and moisture resistance.

Save a portion of the actual Cascadia Paint you applied for touch-ups. Use the same application method (brush vs. roller) as before. Feather the edges to blend seamlessly for a smooth finish.

Seal the can tightly and store it in a cool, dry place.
